Ireland’s First-Ver Dedicated Fashion Week has been announced – ryan

Ashley McDonnell, an Irish Digital Leader in Luxury and Tech, has announced the launch of Ireland fashion week, the first-ever dedicated ifw.

From 6-10 October 2025, the country will transform into a vibrant runway, hosting a country-wide celebration of creativity, culture, and creation.

Leading Designers, International Industry Figures, The Most Stylish Irish and the Global Media will be welcomed to enjoy several fashion shows featuring the country’s most celebrated names as well as exciting up-and-comers.

This project has been a long-time vision for McDonnell, who has been shining a spotlight on the country’s talent for many years now through both her podcast, Tech Powered Luxuryand international events.

In September of 2024, she flew to paris fashion week to host a glamorous event on the PFW 2024 schedule. Nestled Amid Christian Dior, Schiaparelli, Loewe and Victoria Beckham, Live from Paris Fashion Week gave a platform to irish talent on the fashion scene.

In February 2025, she hosted live from Abu Dhabi, a live fashion show and podcast introducing the best of Irish Design to the Middle East. The 300-Person event welcomed a litany of Irish Movers and Shakers, ranging from Irish Ambassador Alison Milton to Pop Star Lyra.

“My ambition is to build the LVMH Group of Ireland, and I will do that,” She previously told RTé Lifestyle. “I hope that next year I will be able to announce the first brand that will be a part of that group. And the focus will start with irish premium brands, not just in fashion, but across other product categories.”

She described our fashion week as being “very different” to others, as we don’t have the “legacy that exists in other cities that have fashion weeks”.

“It’s going to be less about bringing in media and buyers, and it’s going to be more focused on community, education, giving a platform to people. It won not just Be fashion shows. Ill be events, ILL BE TALKS, ILL BE LOOBITIONS. With fashion and what does fashion mean for ireland and what role will we play in the industry in the years to come. “

Today, the Galway Woman has officially revealed her vision for ireland fashion week.

She plans to create a space for irish design on the world stage, celebrating its heritage, sustainability, and future-forward innovation.

When speaking about the inaugural annual event, Ashley said: “The idea to create a nationwide ireland fashion week came from a realization that irish fashion designers were lacking both the platform and the funding to showcase across the country.

“By creating an entity dedicated to producing events and experience around the country, we are now in a position to bring a world-class fashion week to the Island and help Brands with the funding of their shows, subsiding selected designers and offering incredible additional Support.”
