Bangladesh: Sheikh Hasina’s daughter’s apartment will be confiscated, the court ordered

Dhaka, April 29 (IANS). A Bangladesh court on Tuesday approved an order to seize the apartment of Syima Vajed Putul, daughter of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the Gulshan area in Dhaka. The court also approved the request to appoint a recipient for the flat care of the apartment. Zakir Hussain Ghalib, senior special judge of Dhaka Metropolitan, accepted the order on the appeal of the country’s Anti Corruption Commission (ACC). If the property is transferred before the settlement of the case, it could weaken the investigation.” After coming to power in August last year, the interim government of Mohammad Yunus has issued several arrests burden against the former Prime Minister, his family members and supporters of the Awami League. Local media also said that the same Dhaka court has ordered steps to issue warrants against Cyima Vajed in another case. The court said this regarding the case registered on charges of corruption in the award of a plot in Purvancal. Recently, Bangladesh Interpol requested to issue a ‘red notice’ against former Prime Minister Hasina and 11 others. It was requested regarding a conspiracy case to overthrow the interim government led by Mohammad Yunus. According to reports, this request was presented by the Bangladesh police headquarters amid the continued investigation into the allegations of conspiracy to encourage the civil war and remove the transitional administration. -Ians mk/ share this story tags
