Bangladesh: Awami League workers on their way against the Yunus government, demand for resignation
Dhaka, June 16 (IANS). Hundreds of Awami League activists took out a protest march in the streets of Dhaka on Monday and called Muhammad Yunus an ‘illegal and fascist profession’ in Bangladesh. The protesters demanded the immediate resignation of Yunus, as well as appeal to the continuous ‘beautiful business’ against the party head and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In the video of the protests shared on the party’s social media page, many party workers marched on the streets of Dhaka in support of Hasina and wearing banners on which “Hasina will return.” Awami League wrote on the social media page: “In the last few months, it has become clear in the eyes of the country that the Yunus government killed the country’s democracy, destroyed the economy, abolished education and made the judiciary a puppet in the hands of government. Awami League is the only force that represents people in difficult times.” The party said: “Awami League is the only party that believes in the consciousness of the freedom struggle, protects secularism and the development of the country can continue. Others are only busy with the anti -national conspiracy. The struggle has begun and now there is no way to return. insisted that the people of Bangladesh do not want to have an abuse of ‘robbers, corrupt, Yunus government’.
