The Yunus office said: “The official notice of the Gazette in this regard will be released on the next working day.” The statement said the ban will remain in force until the hearing in the International Crime Tribunal (ICT) against the Awami League and its leaders is not completed so that the safety and sovereignty of the country can be protected. The government also said that this decision was made to ensure the safety of the leaders and workers of the movement held in July 2024. Apart from this, this decision was also made for the protection of complainants and witnesses prosecuted in the International Crime Tribunal.
