'Epidemic Agreement' adopted in the General Assembly of World Health
Beijing, May 21 (IANS). The 78th General Assembly of the World Health checked and accepted the World Health Organization Epidemination Agreement. After reviewing and accepting the ‘epidemic agreement’ by the Mahasabha, the Chinese delegation told Chinese news agency’s reporter Xinhua that China actively participated in the ‘epidemic agreement’ discussions. During the discussions, China took the lead in the concept of building a community of humanity proposed by President XI Chinfing and followed the true multilateralism, strengthening solidarity and collaboration from all countries, supported the World Health Organization to play a central coordinating role, improve the global health administration system and improve global prevention, prevention and response. According to the Chinese delegation, China gave appropriate proposals on technical issues such as the prevention of epidemic prevention and monitoring to amend the proposal, following the scientific spirit and participated deeply in the format of relevant proposals, which played an important role in promoting general consensus between all parties. In addition, China, together with Brazil, Indonesia, Bangladesh and other countries, actively responded to the right demands of developing countries for equal access to health products, within the structure of ‘group of friends of equality’, showing the image of a responsible great country. In his speech at the General Assembly, the Director General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adnom Ghebreyasus said that the ‘epidemic agreement’ would become one of the WHO and even the most important achievements in the history of world health and reflect the unprecedented levels of the prevention, control and response of humanity. On April 16 this year, the World Health Organization announced that after a thorough talks over three years, the member states have reached the concept of “epidemic agreement” consensus and submitted it to the 78th World Health Meeting for consultation.
