A man, identified as Saraschandra K, posted a video claiming that a dead cockroach in Laddoo ‘Prasadam’ was found in the Srisailam Devasthanam Temple in Andhra Pradesh. The incident, which raised hygiene issues, came to light on June 29 when the dedicated reportedly noticed it before buying it. Netizens says it’s “unacceptable”. In a complaint letter, he mentions that the Ladoo was prepared by an irresponsible staff. “On June 29, I visited the Srisailam Devasthanam and in the Laddoo ‘Prasadam’ I found an insect that is a cockroach. The Devasthnam staff is negligent while making ‘Prasadams’. Take a note and sort the issue,” Saraschandra said. The executive officer of the Srisailam Devasthanam Temple, Srinivasa Rao, refuted the claim and said the Ladoos was made with a proper hygiene taking into account neatness. “The Laddoo is and will be made under the constant supervision of staff in the preparation center. There is no possibility that a cockroach is found in it,” Srisailam said. He requested committed to not upset about the quality of the Prasadam. When Saraschandra tried to ask the temple officials about it, they tried to take Ladoo off him as to offer a reasoning behind it. What the shocked dedicated at the counter shocked was the absence of accountability that began to show concerns about the safety of Prasadam. The situation stretched when bystanders forced the man to remove the video he filmed from the alleged forged Laddoo.
