IIFT expands its global footprint by opening the first foreign campus in Dubai

New -Delhi, May 16 (IANS). The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has announced the autonomous body under the Ministry of Trade and Industry to open its first foreign campus in Dubai on Friday. This is an important step towards the expansion of the global presence of IIFT and strengthening India’s participation in international trade education. According to the Ministry of Trade, this was possible after approval by the Ministry of Historical Development Education and ‘No Objection Certificate’ of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs and University Grant Commission (UGC). The ministry said: “This is a glorious moment in the globalization of Indian higher education, in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020 approach and emphasizes the internationalization of indian institutions and the creation of global educational centers.” Trade union and industry Minister Piyush Goyal said that the National Education Policy (NEP) reflects the spirit of 2020, which is a new chapter in the growing role in the internationalization of Indian education and the formation of the idea leadership at the global level. Union Minister Goyal said: “This is also proof of strengthening the Indo-Uae partnership and this new campus will play an important role in shaping future business leaders.” Trade Secretary Sunil Barthwal congratulated the IIFT on his first international expansion, saying that it is an important turn in the 62 -year history of IIFT that the Institute is setting up a fully developed campus in Dubai. It represents the rise of India as a country that provides world -class education in the field of international trade. Rakesh Mohan Joshi, professor of the vice -chancellor, has his commitment to turning the IIFT into a world -class institution and leaving his dedication to his impression in his new Dubai campus, through research, training and excellence in international trade.
