After the whip revives, Nationals Out for Revenge on Braves
The right -hand Spencer Strider will be on the hill when the Atlanta Braves open a series of three games at the Washington Nationals on Tuesday. Strider (0-1, 3.60 era) was activated on Monday from the 15-day injured list. He made his only start of the season on April 16 and gave up two runs in five innings against the Toronto Blue Jays. Five days later, he was placed on the injured list with a judge hamstring. Strider has just returned from the right elbow operation, which limited him to two in 2024 – the last on April 5. Strider was positive and hopeful after being in a simulated match last Wednesday. “I have to get up,” Strider said according to MLB.com. “I would get up every day if I could. I have thrown in one big league game for over a year now, so definitely many things to work on. … I need the representatives, I need the exercise and I have to move at full speed – guys work out and work on my stuff. I would like to be able to go in some games and it can move. ‘ Strider was predominant in 2022 and 23, with a joint 31-10 with a 3.36 era while beating 483 fighters in 318 1/3 overs. He was only 20-5 in 2023 while he appeared in the All-Star match and finished fourth in the National League Cy Young Award. He is 4-1 with a 4.55 era in six career appearances (five start) versus Washington. The nationals will counteract the left-handed Mitchell Parker (3-3, 4.32 era). Over his last four start, Parker is 0-2 with a 9.68 era. He walked 13 and hit 12 over 17 2/3 innings and finished five innings only once in that piece. Parker allowed four runs on four strokes over 4 2/3 innings of a decision against the Braves on Wednesday. He was removed after removing a comebacker from his left knee. In three career Parker starts with a 4.50 era against the Braves. Washington opens a six -game home field while on a three -match finish line after swepting the Baltimore Orioles this weekend. The success came after they lost three of four in Atlanta and eight of their previous nine overall. “It’s great that we jumped back so back,” said outside player Dylan Crews after Washington improved to 21-27. “Obviously, you don’t want things to go like in Atlanta or even before that. But we’re going to go here and turn the page, and that’s what we did. We’re going to use it as momentum forward. ‘ The Nationals hit five home runs on Sunday, including a shot by CJ Abrams to start the match, his 11th career lead -to -be. He added another home game in the second innings. After dropping during the second half of 2024 after his first All-Star appearance, Abrams hits .312 in 35 games this season, with nine doubles, eight homers and nine stolen bases. Atlanta took two of three in Boston to start his six-game journey and win the final by 10-4. The Rookie Catcher, Drake Baldwin, had two singles and hit this month .531 (17-by-32). “The child hits,” said the driver Brian Snittker. “He’s going to play more. It’s just as it goes, and he does a wonderful job. I want to keep him active, as well as (catcher Sean Murphy). If you can do this, you can take a lot out of one position. ‘ -Media on the field level
