Adani Ports set a new record in cargo handling with a 7 percent increase in FY 2025

Ahmedabad, April 2 (IANS). Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) handled 450 million tonnes (MMT) cargo in FY 2024-25, reflecting an increase of 7 percent annually. This information was given on Wednesday. Mundra, the leading port of Apsez, achieved a historical achievement by crossing 200 mmt cargo mark in the same financial year, which was made for the first time by any Indian port. The country’s largest port operator handled 420 mmt load in FY 2023-24, which catches the government’s volume of 410 MMT. A record of 24 percent turnover increase with this milestone, a 50 percent increase in the net profit and 24 percent increase in freight movement. Apsez Managing Director Karan Adani leads the company to global dominance, with the aim of becoming the world’s largest port operator by 2030, to reach carbon neutrality by 2040 and to get net-zero emissions. Karan Adani said: “Akanksha is a promise that we are doing through ourselves. Under the guidance of our President Gautam.” Karan Adani insisted on APSEZ’s dedication to these national objectives and decided to expand the global trade connection and strengthen the infrastructure. The vision of Apsez is in line with the comprehensive economic goals of India. By 2030, the government set a target for export of $ 1 trillion, as well as a target to lower the logistical cost of 14 percent of GDP to 8 percent. Despite challenges such as global trading disorder in the Red Sea, Panama Channel, geophysical conflict and seasonal events, Apsed remains flexible. Its development strategy focuses on increasing infrastructure, accepting the latest technology, improving operations and effectively dealing with different types of load. Apsed, currently 27 percent of the cargo volume of India, has developed or acquired 14 ports and terminal since 1998. The company also runs international ports in Haifa (Israel), Abbott Point (Australia), Colombo (Sri Lanka) and Dar s Salaam (Tanzania), which raises the global appearance. Adani Ports is the largest port operator of India and its goal is to develop the country’s cargo volume at double the rate. -Ians skt/abm
