A dead spider and his webs have opened such an evil murderers, the secret of crores has been opened
It is often seen in films that police or detectives open the secret of a big case by seeing spiders or lizards. But in Jaipur, one such real case came to light in 2009, proving how complicated crime can also be resolved with the help of forensic science. This story goes with the help of Spider webs, which is still taught as an example in police training, with an excise duty evasion of crores of rupees. The whole case is related to the bikaner district of Rajasthan. An enterprise here has made ceramic isolators for high rise power lines. The company had two factories – registered on a small scale, which did not cost the excise tax on goods up to about Rs 1.5 crore, and another large factory. The owners of the business sold the goods of the Big Factory as a small factory that used to steal excise duty. The central excise department received information that there was some disorder in the business, as the factory where the goods were sold in the market was long closed. The owners of the company repeatedly claimed that the goods were ready there, but the team reached the place, the factory was long closed. The fabric frozen on the machines, a lack of clean footprints on the floor was a sign that the factory had been closed for a long time. The answer to every question of the factory owner was ready. He said that there is a sandy area around the factory so that dust is suitable. Spider Web is also made daily, so there should be no doubt. The investigative team wanted clear evidence, but even after inspection no concrete evidence was found. The investigative team then turned in the help of Bikaner’s Mobile Forensic Science Lab (FSL). The FSL team inspected and took photos of each machine, trolley, electric panel and tracks. A thick layer of fabric was found everywhere, but it was not known when the factory was closed. Dr. BB, director of Jaipur FSL on Arora’s instructions, took the crime scene in Charge photos of the trolley wheel and the Spider webbe on the track. These photos were sent to biology and DNA profile unit. Investigation revealed that the Artima Atlanta Spider found in Bikaner made only once throughout the lifetime, and that her average age is about 130-140 days. Microscopic analysis of the dead body samples and webs of the spider emerged that the spider made a web three to four months ago. This meant that the factory was closed for three months, not just 8-10 days. This technique of forensic entomology gave decisive evidence to the investigative team. Based on this report, the company appeared to be fraud in court. The study of Spider webs and its lifetime exposed the theft of excise tax worth rupps. The investigative team also said that the pattern of Spider webs is also unique to each species such as fingerprints and retina. This matter has become an important example of the strength of forensic science, not only in Rajasthan, but also across the country. This case, which has been resolved from the hard work and scientific point of view of the team of the forensic science library of Jaipur, has proven how modern science and technology can be used against crime.
