Rapid growth in India's fast Indian exports in the US market in April
New -Delhi, May 16 (IANS). The country’s textiles and clothing (T&A) exports are still increasing. In April this year, it registered a 7.45 percent increase on a year-on-year basis. The analysis of the data released by the Ministry of Trade showed that these positive trends were mainly observed as a result of a strong performance of the clothing segment, with a strong growth of 14.43 percent on an annual basis. Rakesh Mehra, president of the Confederation of Indian Textile Industries (Citi), said: “The current 14.43 percent growth of clothing is mainly motivated by the US administration to increase the shipment of the ship following the announcement of the tariff measures for receipt.” Mehra also welcomes the signature of the Indo-Bitten Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which is expected to improve the scope of Indian products in the UK market and promote India’s T&A exports. During April 2025, Indian textile exports were approximately 2.61 percent higher than the same month of the previous year, while exports of clothing during this month achieved a 14.43 percent increase and touched a $ 1.37 billion point compared to $ 1.2 billion in April last year. The April figures reflect the increase in the growth rate, as the Indian T&A region recorded a 6.3 percent increase during 2024-25 compared to 2023-24. According to the data released by the Ministry of Trade on Thursday, the total export of goods and services from India in April amounted to $ 73.80 billion, compared to $ 65.48 billion in the same month last year. This is despite the global economic uncertainties arising from US tariff growth. -Ians SKT/Ekd shares this story -tags
