‘A Working Man’ Director David Ayer Knows Why Audiences Love Jason Statham – ryan
It seems that Jason Statham Can do no wrong in the Eyes of the fans that regularly soak in his movies with Joyul Glee. Whether He’s Beating Down the Bad Guys, or Sharing A Tender Moment with One of His Co-Stars, The English Actor is a favorite of many that have been following his career since he first broke on the scene in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. In his latest movie, A Working ManStatham reunites with his Beeabing director David Ayer For yet another gritty action thriller, and the filmmaker believes he knows why audiences love a good stetham flick.
Speaking with Collider’s Steve Weintraub, Ayer said he believes that the success of Statham’s movies voices from the fact that he’s just a regular guy that we can all identify with. “He has that everyman quality,” the director said. Indeed, it’s that trait that’s front and center in A Working Manwhere, in addition to portraying a former Royal Marine Commando, Statham’s A Construction Foreman Just Trying to Provide for His Family. Who can’t identify with that?
“He could be your dad or uncle or neighbor, and because it is somebody that we think we know, that we could know, avenging us or going after these despicable people, there’s something vicarious there. He becomes our protector and not just someone inside a movie screen.”

There’s definite something to ayer’s theory, as, unlike jacked-up action heroes from the past, statham is much more relatable, even when he’s playing things like a highly skilled assassin (The Beekeeper), or an Elite Mercenary (The Expendables). The action flick has thus far taken in over $ 32 million in receipts, and while critics haven’t bone child to it, audiences have had nothing but good things to say about the movie. The proof is in its rotten tomatoes score, which sits at 49% from Pundits, and 89% from those that have forked over their hard-Earned cash for a ticket.
“Jason Statham’s Best Movie to Date,” Said User Willie B, Adding, “A Lot of Action and a Good Storyline.” User orlando g echoed those sentiments in his own review, saying, “action from starting to end. Very good movie. Jason statham does not disappoint. A mission that kicks buttocks.” Then there’s Janet, who says:
“Jason Statham performs eloquently and in his typical fashion, and it is a thoroughly enjoyable movie. There is a lot of killing and murdering going on, and yet it was really well done. I would recommend. Full of action!”
