Baby Cam Captures Moment Mom Learned The Hard Way Dad Moved Chair By Crib – ryan
A mom has shared footage of the moment she learned the hard way that her husband had moved the chair that was once beside their baby’s crib.
Jeanie Dedelow from Indiana took to TikTok, posting under the handle mamajeanied, to share baby cam footage from what, on first glance, looks like an ordinary night for a parent with a young child.
In 2019, a study published in the journal Sleep suggested parents can expect to suffer from sleep deprivation for the first six years of their child’s life.
For the past year, however, Dedelow, who is a former NICU, labor, delivery and postpartum nurse, turned mom of two children under the age of 2, had a pretty good system for getting her daughter back to sleep.
The key to it was a chair positioned just next to the crib. “I kept it there to soothe my daughter at night when she needed it,” Dedelow told Newsweek.
On this particular night, Dedelow had just put her daughter down to sleep. Keen to ensure she drifted off peacefully, the plan was for Dedelow to sit next to the crib so she wasn’t alone.
However, as the video shows, that plan went out the window the minute she went to sit down and realized, with a painful bump, that the chair was not there.
So rather than maintain the quiet, peaceful sleep environment any young child needs, her daughter found her serenity disrupted by the sound of her mom crashing to the floor having tried to sit on a chair that simply wasn’t there.
She later discovered her husband had, in fact, moved the chair. But any annoyance at his actions was quickly tempered when he revealed why he had done so.
“He moved it to clean around the crib after my daughter puked everywhere… so kudos for that,” Dedelow said. “He just didn’t put it back! I was helping her back to sleep and it was pitch black in there. I didn’t even think to look… clearly.”
Despite the obvious pain and embarrassment, Dedelow was able to see the funny side, so decided to share the baby cam footage on TikTok.
“I thought it was hilarious,” she said. I’m sure a lot of people can relate to their partners doing something like this.”
At the time of writing, the video has been watched 2.6 million times. For many viewers, Dedelow’s husband was clearly to blame for moving the chair and not telling her.
One viewer suggested: “Start moving his stuff… small at first like the pens, then escalate to rearranging the whole kitchen.” Another wrote: “I would’ve raged until I woke the whole house up and made him put everyone back to sleep.”
A third said: “I’m mad at your husband, my husband, every husband over this” with a fourth writing: “this is a micro-aggression.” A fifth, meanwhile, added: “Then they’ll have the audacity to ask why didn’t you look first.”
