He said that the ordinary people are now being forced to leave the gas cylinder and cook again on wood and stove. During the protests, women activists of the youth congress collected firewood and cooked food, trying to convey that the current gas prices were outside the ordinary man. Malhotra said the central government promised to provide cylinders for the first Rs 400, which has now become just a slogan.
