More than 2.16 Lakh Gram Panchayats on Pai portal, 35.8 percent selected 'performance'
New -Delhi, April 9 (IANS). The central government said on Wednesday that more than 2.16 Lakh Gram Panchayats of 29 State/trade union areas recorded their data on the dedicated Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI) portal, which strictly confirmed each entry before it was included in the final index. The government has launched Pai to measure the progress of more than 2.5 Lakh Gram Panchayats (GP) across the country. According to the ‘Pai 2022-23’ data, 35.8 percent of the Gram Panchayats are now recognized as ‘protesters’, while 61.2 percent have been identified as ‘endeavor’, while Gujarat and Telangana are in the foreground. The PAI reflects the performance of Panchayats on nine topics of local GOL (SDG). This includes poverty free and better livelihoods in the Panchayat, Healthy Panchayats, Children-Friendly Panchayats, Clean and Green Panchayats, Self-Conductive Infrastructure Panchayats, Socially Justified and Socially Safe Panchayats, Good Management TeamChayat and women-friendly Panchayat. State -wise Gujarat is at the forefront of 346 grams of Panchayats, followed by Telangana with 270 grams of Panchayats. High performances include 13.781 of Gujarat, 12.242 of Maharashtra, 10.099 of Telangana, 7.912 of Madhya Pradesh and 6.593 of Uttar Pradesh. While the pursuit of Gram Panchayats has an important interest in Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh. Pai data of 2022-23 indicates that 2,16,285 offered valid data from 2,55,699 grams. 699 ie 0.3 percent panchayats were at the forefront. This was followed by 77.298 ie 35.8 percent panchayats, 1,32,392 ie 61.2 percent aspiration and 5.896 ie 2.7 percent grams of Panchayats were at an early level. PAI is a holistic index and is compiled on the basis of 435 unique local indicators (331 mandatory and 104 optional), including 566 unique data points in 9 subjects of LSDG (localization of sustainable development) related to the National Indicator Framework (NIF) of the Ministry of Statistics and Program SPI).
