Kunal Kamra did not appear before Mumbai police, despite the issue of summons for the third time
Mumbai, April 5 (IANS). Comedian Kunal Kamra, who was trapped by commenting without calling the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, did not appear before Khar police on Saturday. The police officer said it was the third time that Kunal Kamra had not appeared, despite the summons issued. Earlier, the Khar police station issued two summonses to Kunal Kamra and asked him to appear for interrogation, but Kamra was not present. According to information received from the Khar police station in Mumbai, Kamra is not in contact with police as the second summons was sent. The first summons to Kunal was issued on March 25, for which Kunal sought time until April 2, but police refused to give him a second summons on March 27 and asked him to appear at the Khar police station on March 31. Khar police have interviewed many people associated with Habitat Studios and recorded their statement. Other people related to the case are questioned. In the event that he did not appear before the police, Kamra told the phone on March 25 that he was out of Mumbai, through which he could not appear before the police. He said he needed a week to come to Mumbai to appear before police. Kunal Kamra shared a post on Instagram and condemned the sabotage at the Habitat Club and said he would not apologize for his comments. The comedian granted interim anticipating bail by the Madras High Court on April 1. The court granted him interim anticipating bail until April 7 with conditions. Kunal Kamra sought bail from inter -states with reference to her home in Tamil Nadu. Kamra filed a petition in the Supreme Court stating that he had moved from Mumbai to Tamil Nadu in February 2021. He is a resident of Tamil Nadu. In addition, he expressed his concern about his safety.
