Massive traffic jam on Western Express Highway amid heavy rain in Mumbai, roads in Andheri flooded

With a heavy rainfall announcing the financial capital since Sunday and a red warning for the city announced by the India Meteorological Department on Monday, several areas across Mumbai reports. Due to the ongoing rainfall in Mumbai and suburbs, traffic – including trains, roads and flights – was paralyzed. Massive jams on roads, including Western Express Highway, can be seen, with roads in Andheri, Dadar, Matunga, Zion and Kurla are weakened. Both lanes of the Andheri metro were closed for vehicle movement for the day, notified of Mumbai police, and traffic will be added via Thackeray Bridge and Gokhale Bridge. Water was accumulated on the port line on the tracks on a few low-lying areas, and then the rail-changing points between Kurla and Tilak Nagar stations were hit. Almost all trains run late by 15 to 20 minutes. Meanwhile, the BMC said on X that all seven pumps at the Hindmata pumping station were activated to drain accumulated rainwater.
