Shivaji's fort became the heritage of the world

India’s heritage of the Trending Shivaji’s Fort, India, achieved a great achievement when maratha -military forts were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is the 44th Unesco World Heritage of India, which recognizes Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s military skills and fort strategy worldwide. The list contains a total of 12 historical forts, including Jijgarh Fort in Raigad, Rajgarh, Pratapgarh and Tamil Nadu in Maharashtra. These forts were not only architectural structures, but were a strong symbol of the concept of war policy, resistance and self -government. Raigad, Shivneri, Lohgarh and Panhala Fort were so inaccessible that enemies could not reach them. Shivaji Maharaj used them strategically, not only as a army base, but also to protect the war and supply routes. Some of these forts are maintained by the archaeological recording of India (ASI), while others are protected by the Maharashtra Archaeological Department. After an overview of about 18 months after this heritage and terrain inspection by ICOMOS, 18 countries supported India’s proposal. Now India is sixth place in the world and second in the Asia-Pacific region in the number of heritage sites of the world. Click here Life & Style Click for more stories Click here
