Ind vs Eng 1st Test: Yashasvi Jaiswal continues with a magical run against England, Maiden hits hundreds on English land | Mint

Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his dream run against England, as the India opener set the tone with a brilliant hundred on Friday on the opening day of the first Test against England in Leeds. Jaiswal first sent in Bat and gave India a good start before lunch with a 91 run with opening partner Kl Rahul. Although India Rahul and Debutant Sai Sudharsan lost just before lunch in a quick succession, the left hand with captain Shubman Gill had an unbeaten stand of 100 runs and also brought his fifth Test one hundred to tea. It was Jaiswal’s third hundred against England. The previous twice, Jaiswal reached century against England, and he made sure he doubled it. Both Jaiswal’s double hundreds of tests came through India during England’s tour in 2024. His other two tested hundreds came against Australia (2024) and West Indies (2023).
