Yashasvi Jaiswal to leave Mumbai to Goa for the upcoming domestic season; Write to MCA looking for NOC

02 April 2025 02:42 PM IST YASHASVI JAISWAL is likely to follow Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad to make a switch from Mumbai cricket to Goa. India and the opening of the Mumbai batter Yashasvi Jaiswal reflects on the upcoming domestic season to Goa. The left-handed batter emailed the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) with a No Objection Certification (NOC) to make the switch. Sources in the MCA confirmed to Hindustan Times on Wednesday that the 23-year-old did ask for permission. Yashasvi Jaiswal is anything but Mumbai cricket for the time being (AFP), but the reason behind Jaiswal’s decision was not revealed. “Yes, we received a request from Yashasvi seeking a NOC. We received mail from him in which he expressed his desire to move to Goa after the upcoming domestic season,” the source said. When asked why Jaiswal requested to go over, the source kept them from disclosing more details and said that the youngster cited ‘personal’ reasons. If the MCA nods to Yashasvi, the left hand like Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad will work together to represent Goa in their careers. Jaiswal recently played for Mumbai in the Ranji trophy against Jammu and Kashmir. This comes after the BCCI issued a dictat for each central contracted player, making it mandatory to play domestic cricket. Against Jammu and Kashmir, Jaiswal scored 4 and 26. It should be mentioned that Jaiswal Mumbai has represented U19 days since. Jaiswal first came into public notice after registering a double century for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare trophy. His consistent performances in the domestic circle have led him to earn a test call, and since then he has not looked back. Sources in Goa Cricket Association also confirmed that Jaiswal is moving to Goa. “Yes, we decided to quit him. The paperwork remains, but we are excited to have him, as the rest of the group members can learn from his experience. ‘ When asked if Jaiswal Goa was going to cut, the source held and said, “There is a lot of time to decide on it. Let the paperwork be done first.” Jaiswal cemented his place in the Indian Test team as an ordinary opening batter. In the Border-Gavascar trophy, which lost India by 1-3, Jaiswal was one of the striking achievers and scored 391 runs at an average of 43.44. He also recorded a century in the series opener in Perth. Jaiswal’s Mumbai travel Yashasvi Jaiswal made his Ranji trophy debut for Mumbai in the 2018-19 season. He played for the state against Chhattisgarh. In the season 2021–22, Jaiswal played an important role by scoring three consecutive centuries during Mumbai’s journey to the final. He also became the latest double Centurion in List a Cricket when he scored 203 runs against Jharkhand in the Vijay Hazare trophy for 2019-20. Jaiswal’s underwhelming returns in IPL 2025 Jaiswal, who retained the Rajasthan Royals for INR 18 Crore, failed to get started in the upcoming 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the three games, Jaiswal registered scores of 1, 29 and 4, which joined 34 runs. Rajasthan Royals is currently ninth in the IPL standings with 2 points out of 3 games. The franchise will give up against Punjab Kings on Saturday, April 5. Orange Cap in IPL 2025, IPL Purple Cap and IPL Points Table-Stay with real-time match updates, teams and insights.
