Apple allows third parties to use the electronic payment disc for the first time

Apple will start allowing third parties to use the iPhone payment disc to complete financial transactions, a step that allows banks and other service providers to compete with the Apple Pay platform. This step, announced yesterday, Wednesday, comes in the wake of years of pressure by organizational bodies, including the European Union. Apple said it would enable developers to use this slide from updating the next iOS 18.1 for the iPhone operating system. This slide depends on the NFC communication technology (NFC) to exchange information as the phone approaches another device. With this change, external service providers can use the slide to pay in stores, pay the cost of transport, worksheets, home and hotel keys and reward cards. Apple will later add the support of the government’s identity cards. Users can make an external payment application as the virtual payment option instead of “Apple Bay”. Security issues on the availability of the “Apple” disc that Apple was reluctant to provide the segment of the developers, due to what he considered safety issues. This change would also threaten the revenue that the company earns from Apple Bay’s transactions as it becomes part of all the payments that occur via “iPhone” devices. According to the new approach, “Apple” will ask the developers to pay “linked fees” to use the slide and enter a “commercial agreement”, according to the statement issued yesterday. This guarantees that “accredited developers who meet certain sectoral and regulatory requirements, and are committed to the continuous safety and privacy standards of Apple” can only reach the system, as stated by the company. Apple, based in Cuperno, intends to start the program in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, the United States and the United Kingdom. The European Union, which has printed on this function, has not mentioned much in recent months.
