Egypt places restrictions on imported phones to support local manufacturing and export
Egypt has placed restrictions on the use of cell phones coming from abroad, in the context of supporting the efforts to provide homemade “cell phones” in high quality and competitive and stimulating prices for export, according to a joint statement from the “finance” and “communications” ministries, which were issued today, Wednesday. The statement pointed out that a large number of international companies began to produce cell phones of all kinds in the Egyptian market, without specifying the identity of these companies. The new procedures, which will not apply retroactively, every citizen from abroad will allow a “exempt from customs” cellphone for a three -month transition period abroad to allow the citizens to register their imported cell phones in the new electronic system by using an application without returning to the employees of the dead, according to the statement.
