   I wonder if people will ever be held accountable for things like this…

   They’re telling us the truth: **this can happen to anyone**. Listen to them.

   So at this point, if an ICE agent were to approach you for an arrest, what incentive do you have to comply?

   This makes me scared to protest and that’s part of the plan isn’t it?

   ICE really are the modern day Gestapo, aren’t they?

   Trump said El Salvador needs to build more prisons for all the “homegrown” citizens for made up crimes to avoid due process as a next step.

   Do people still think “fascist” or “Nazi” is an outrageous, inappropriate comparison, or hyperbole?

   I don’t like how the media keeps referring to this as an “illegal immigrants crackdown.” These people aren’t here illegally.

   If my country does it, we’re a Banana Republic. If the US does it, it’s to safeguard the nation. Fools!

   It is amazing how quickly these supposed ICE agents turned into monsters as soon as somebody eased on the leash. They are basically thugs now. When this is all said and done I hope people lose jobs and stand trial for multiple constitutional violations. We will end up with a modern-day Nuremberg Trial in this country because of how off the rails we already have gotten. It has only been 4 months

    Quick notes:
    Gutierrez is a 19 year old Venezuelan asylum seeker with no gang affiliation, criminal history or tattoos. He has been imprisoned in El Salvador. If he wasn’t a terrorist extremist before (he wasn’t just for the record) he will certainly be now. Rightfully so.

    Ice will start with the fringe members of society first and then move on to the dissenters. It is already a crime to speak against the “conflict” in Israel. Hitler toppled German democracy in 53 days.

    The New York Attorney General can convene a Grand Jury to hear testimony and consider other evidence that this was a kidnapping in violation of New York’s criminal statute. Each and every individual who was involved in this crime can and should be indicted and when identified, they should be arrested, held without bail and tried in a New York State Court speedily.

    I hate reporter language like “he was hanging out at the wrong place at the wrong time”. From what I can tell he was just hanging out at a place at a time.

    People need to prepare for what is actually happening. This is the Nazi regime right in front of our faces.

    That prison is most likely a concentration camp. Once they get you you’re a dead man walking.

    You have no idea (may be you do) how traumatic this is going to be on the teen. I had a similar experience – detained on a mistaken identity, ‘but take him away anyway’,  & took me a long time to recover.

    If anyone sane regains power in the US, there must not be ANYONE associated in this current regime who gets out comfortably. They ALL need to be sent to trial for their crimes, preferably at The Hague.

    So this guy was basically forced to leave Venezuela due to the US’s economic war, which was drastically increased by Trump, that completely wrecked the economy and practically shut down PDVSA entirely, where he worked, so he bailed and immigrated into the US through legal means only for his son to be illegally kidnapped and sent to a third country notorious for harsh prisons by state officials? Fucked up.

    Cecot is MAGA’s Death Camp. ICE is MAGA’s Gestapo. This is immoral, inhumane, and wrong. We have to stand against it, because no one is coming to save us.

    This is how you get everyone refusing to comply regardless of the cost. If you’re looking at being deported forever to a place where you’re likely to die, you have nothing to lose.

    This is not oniony. It’s unbelievably fucked up, but not oniony.

    It might be time to stop applying phrases like “wrong” and “mistake” to this kind of activity.

    This isn’t even a little bit surprising to me. I know someone who is in the final steps of the ICE agent hiring process. He is constantly in trouble at work for being overly aggressive, communicating inappropriately to his subordinates, and barely has a hold on his hairpin trigger temper. Major issue with authority figures, especially if those figures of authority represent a minor community. His former partners are all terrified of him. He absolutely can not admit fault in any circumstance, and any critical feedback sets him off. And we’re gonna give this guy a gun.
