Watchos 2026 Lex: Apple to bring third-party-widget support to Control Center. Here's why it matters | Mint
Apple is ready to hold its global developer conference in Cupertino from June 9. Before the second largest event of the year – behind the introduction of the iPhone in September, there were many possible leaks on what the new operating self -functioning should be announced by the technical giant. First, it is seen as an almost certainty that Apple will break away from the current designation tradition and go to a name system instead of the current year. This means the upcoming version of Apple Devices software called iOS 26, iPados 26, Watchos 26 and the like. However, from a report by 9to5mac it appears that there will also be a new feature in Watchos 26 that have been sought by Cuprtino’s Watch users for a long time. Apple prepares itself to bring widgets from third-party widgets to Watchos 26: Apple is only allowing users to select from its own switches and tiles in the control center settings on Apple Watches, but this is reportedly ending with the latest software version. Reportedly, Apple will bring third-party widgets in Control Center with Watchos 26. This will mean that developers can join their widgets directly in the control center and users will be able to bring important data or actions of third-part app such as Wi-Fi, battery and Focus mode. In addition, Apple can also fully adjust the layout for widgets on the control center, so that users can essentially rearrange or remove more easily than the current method. When will Apple’s new software freezing? Apple does not officially announce at this stage when the latest software will be rolled out and limits itself only to display its software innovations at WWDC. However, the company’s track record is to display new innovations at WWDC and later perform all the new software updates shortly after the new iPhone launch event in September.
