China is ready to import more Indian goods amid Trump rates, demanding 'non-discriminatory' attitude for COS: Report | Mint
Despite the growing imbalance in the trade – India’s deficit with China that hits a staggering $ 99.2 billion – Beijing is reaching out to greater economic cooperation. In an exclusive interview with The Times of India, Chinese ambassador Xu Feihong shared the intention of Beijing to welcome more premium Indian goods and help Indian businesses utilize the massive consumer market in China. This is the first interview of Xu with Indian media since he held office, and his words indicate a possible shift in economic dynamics between the two countries. While China’s great market offers commercial opportunities for Indian exporters, Xu has also requested India to create a more level playing field for Chinese businesses that work within its borders. He emphasized the importance of fair, transparent and non-discriminatory treatment to promote deeper collaboration. First Published: 19 Apr 2025, 09:26 PM IST
