20 years ago FAX ordered 10 C40LFs from New Flyer 10 CNG (0501-10) and 2 Hybrids (0511-12). Believe it or not they were FAX’s first order of New Flyer Buses. The 05s replaced some of the 90s Flixible Metro buses from Grumman. It has the same powertrain as the 06s due to its Cummins C Gas Plus. For the Hybrids 0511-12 is a GE40LF both units didn’t last long around 2011 the last time it ran and the reason why they were short lived is because the parts that they have are really hard to find and they were sitting there. As of right now the 05s are FAX’s oldest fleet 0508-10 are the only fleets that are running whenever they’re subbing for a bus or used as driver training. Sometimes on Trippers but most likely either subbing a bus or on driver training. Unfortunately it looks like it’s the end of the road for the 05s due to arrival of new buses but hey at least they will be on the road until retirement.
