However, HC aimed to form an expert committee to formulate a proper policy on this matter. The court said it was keeping the health of the citizens in mind, it was allowed to make concrete decisions by taking advice from experts to the BMC and the state government. The court said that the custom of pigeons is at risk of breathing diseases, which cannot be ignored. In light of this, the court ordered the BMC to consider alternative measures using experts. In addition, the court also proposed to decide an alternative place to place the birds. BMC has so far imposed a fine on 142 people and about Rs 68.700 has been restored. The next trial on this issue in the Supreme Court will be held on Wednesday. Earlier, there was a jerk in Dadar’s Pigeonkhana, the tarpaulin protesters were removed by the BMC in a pigeon area in Dadar area. The protesters included people from the Jain community, who regard the pigeons as part of their religious faith. There was also a clash on the police stop. State Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha reached the place after the incident. He condemned the performance, saying that the trust of the Jain Temple has nothing to do with this performance. Lodha called on the people to maintain peace and said the police would take appropriate steps. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has made it clear that it is not appropriate to stop the Pigeonkhans suddenly. He instructed the BMC for the birds to get a controlled grain until any alternative arrangement is made. The chief minister also said that a policy must be made in which it is decided when and where pigeons can be given grain, so that the health of the citizens is also not injured safe and religious sentiments.
