Jharkhand: People landed on their way to protest against the death of a young man in police custody in Doghar

DOOGHAR, MAY 22 (IANS). Hundreds of people came out on the road on Thursday to protest against the death of a youth in custody of Kuber police in the Doghar district of Jharkhand and staged a resentment. Police left tear gas peel and Lathi to remove the people blocking the road. In light of the tense situation, additional police force was deployed in the Palajori police station in Doghar. The young man who died called Meraj Ansari. He was detained by police on Wednesday morning in a case of cybercrime. On Wednesday night, when his health deteriorated, police admitted in the hospital where he died. Local people claim to have lost his life as a result of beating in custody. In this case, no officer officially appeared on behalf of the police. According to villagers, cyber police and the Palajori police station attacked the Dudhni village and detained four youths, including 35 -year -old Meraj Ansari. Meraj’s family members were notified on Thursday morning that he had been sent to the hospital for treatment due to ill health, where he died. After the Palajori policy team reached the post -mortem of the dead body, his family and the residents became angry and blocked the highway by Palajori. Mehboob Ansari, the older brother of the deceased, claimed that police had only started assaulting Meraj after he was arrested. Local people were also abused because they protested. The people who block the road hold the police officers responsible for the death of Meraj and demand action against them.
