Data volt -investments in Saudi Arabia will be over $ 5 billion
Data voltings in Saudi Arabia will exceed the five billions announced yesterday to build sustainable and innovative data centers, as the demand for the services of these centers is a lot of candidate for growth, according to Badi Badmanathan, the chairman of the company. Badmanathan said in an interview with Al -Sharq on the sidelines of the work of the second day of the “Leb” conference in Riyadh, the absorption capacity of the centers that the company plans to incorporate Saudi Arabia into the first phase is 500 megawatts, and it is nothing more than a “fall” of the demand. He pointed out that there are different places in the kingdom, in addition to the capital, Riyadh, the company wants to work in it, including Jeddah, Dammam and Yum. Yesterday, during the first day of the “Leip” conference, Several Companies, Along with “Data Volt”, Announced New Investments in the Kingdom, including “Amazon”, which announced an investment of $ 5.3 billion through its arm “Amazon web Saudi Arabia, and “IBM”, which will Pump $ 250 million to establish a global center to develop software in the kingdom, and “service now” it will invest $ 500 million in Saudi Arabia to create its first data center in the region. Removing the carbon footprint with the development of technology, and in the light of artificial intelligence models and machine learning, will fold the consumption of energy centers for energy, which requires the provision of renewable energy energy -data centers, similar to the centers that “voltage” to invest in Saudi Arabia, as Badmanathan emphasized. He pointed out that these data centers depend on renewable energy sources such as hydrogen, wind energy, etc., which distinguish them from other data centers that depend on central electricity networks.
