These kings, soldiers and loyal dogs testify to the martyrdom of dogs, who still worship the residents as ‘Palia Dev’. Worship of Palia Dev is located in Jotana Taluka in the Mehsana district Gujarat, a small but historic town – Santhal. This village is just 2-3 kilometers from Jotana, where about 4000 to 5,000 people live today. The particular thing is that this town was recorded in government records as Santhal State of City. Once you walk here, three old Palia (war monuments) are seen outside the police station, which offers a precious look at the bravery and history of the town. Thousands of years old testifies to the heroic story, three Palia of Santhal Village reminds me of the bravery and sacrifice of that time, not just stone. Former Sarpanch and lawyer Manubhai Trivedi of the town said in a special conversation with Local18 that Santhal Village was founded in 1005 AD by SLDEV Nagar. After 317 years, ie in 1322 it got the state status. Earlier, this area was divided into 24 small states. In remembrance of the first Palia feather Samant Singh Jhala, the first of the three shifts is the first king Samant Samant Singh Jhala of Palia Village. He laid the establishment of Santhal Kingdom and ruled with bravery. The second Palia comes from his descendant Vegad Singh Jhala, who was tortured in a war during the invasion of Mohammad Shah. The third Palia is the third Palia of the fighter who played a drum is that of a person named Kalia. He was not a commander or a king, but a hero who played a drum to indicate the attack. At the time of the war he prepared the army by spreading his feet and at this time he also tortured. A loyal dog also has a story, another unique thing with these three brave stories of history is that a loyal dog has also been tortured in that war. This dog was always present on the battlefield with soldiers and became an example of his loyalty. Palia Dev is performed with worship and reverence. The people of Santhal Village worship these shifts as ‘Palia Dev’. There must be a new job, someone has to enter the town or a little favorable work, people bow before Palia first. Once a year, descendants of Vegad Singh Jhala come from the state of Katosan and pay tribute to Palia by padding incense and lamps. The residents play their responsibility, the people of the town regularly clean these historic monuments and light the lamp there. Many residents regard these shifts as a symbol of faith and safety. This tradition has been going on for years and the residents are playing it proudly.
