Karnataka: Ed seized cash worth Rs 2.25 from the woman
Bengaluru, April 26 (IANS). The Directorate for Enforcement (ED) recovered cash worth Rs 2.25 crore from the home of 33 -year -old Aishwarya Gowda, who was arrested on a charge of money laundering. This information was given in an official statement released on Saturday. Gowda allegedly blackmailed jewelers and business centers by becoming the sister of the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, DK Shivkumar and his brother and former LP DK Suresh. The official statement said that the ED, Bangalore Zonal Office Aishwarya Gowda arrested under Article 19 of the Money Wauning Act (PMLA), 2002 Friday, was alleged to have been involved in the crime of money laundering. After the arrest, he was produced in a special PMLA court and the court arrested the accused for 14 days. The ED also performed a search operation in 14 places related to Aishwarya Gowda and her co -workers on April 24 and 25 under the provisions of PMLA, 2002. During the said search operation, different offensive documents related to money laundering were found and seized by movable/immobile properties and other digital equipment. The ED said the income of crime, apart from the evidence, was also received as a cash of about Rs 2.25 crore and confiscated. Earlier, Ed Aishwarya gave Gowda, her husband Harish KN and under different divisions of the Indian Criminal Act/Indian Justice Code against others, the investigation began based on various firs submitted by various police stations in Karnataka. The fir claims that Aishwarya Gowda, her husband Harish and others hatched a criminal conspiracy to cheat and cheat many people through bank accounts by promising returns at a high rate. However, the accused did not return the money and did not promise returns and also threatened investors to have serious consequences to bring the matter forward by claiming their proximity to many high -profile politicians. After the arrest of Aishwarya Gowda and 14 days of supervision at the ED by the Court of the City and the Judge of the Civil Session, in addition to Bangalore, they are being questioned and investigated in custody. The statement said further investigation was underway. Aishwarya Gowda has DK, brother of the Deputy Cm Shivkumar, is accused of cheating gold worth Rs 9.82 crore from a jeweler in Bengaluru by false claiming to be Suresh’s sister. -Ians Sch/CBT
