7:45 i gotta say, i think there is a solution to that, and it’s the same solution as for playing games: stop working efficiently.

if you are in a position to watch this video and play video games, you almost certainly live in a society that is already optimized enough for humans to flourish 1000% on half the workload of most humans in history. your employers doesn’t get to take that away from you. our ancestors worked too hard for a better future — from those whose backs broke before the wheel to just your parents, who didn’t have technology like we do today. i’ll say it again:

your employer doesn’t get to take that away from you

work. work hard, even. revel in the joy of a hard day’s work. but remember that work should contribute to your life. if ever it oversteps that boundary, remind it who’s in charge.
