The congress aimed solidarity at the terror attack in Pahalgam, leaders to make limited statements
New -Delhi, April 30 (IANS). The congress issued a circular to its leaders amid the rhetoric over the Pahalgam terror attack. The secretary secretary of the congress, KC Venugopal, asked the party leaders, officials and workers not to make any statements from the party line. The congress asked its leaders to make public statements in the meeting held on April 24 by the Congress’s Working Committee. The official message issued by the party’s secretary general, KC Venugopal, states that this time is to stand with unity, adulthood and responsibility. The congress party has made it clear that the proposal of the congress’s working committee will be the only public expression of the party on this sensitive matter. The letter states: “In a difficult time, when our collective resolution is tested, the Indian National Congress must provide an example of unity, adulthood and responsibility that shows the values on which the party has served for decades.” All officials were instructed to maintain discipline in any statement, comments or presentation and did not comment from the party line. The party also made it clear that such offense would be considered “serious undiscipline” and that strict disciplinary action would be taken against it. Congress also reiterated that it always retained the national interest during the national crisis, and this time it will show the same dignity and self -control as the country expects.
