Who am I these days? Where is my place now? Have you ever asked those question? Lately they have been on my mind a lot.
.
I am a wife, a mom to adult kiddos now (weird) a daughter and granddaughter, or do I say WAS since my parents and grandparents are long gone from this world.
.
I am a high school drop out, ALSO a college graduate, I am a sister to people I barely know, I am a friend to a few (hopefully a good one for the most part) I am an ex-wife, an ex-step mom, I am a dreamer, an aspiring yoga instructor, a lover of books, sun junkie, beach girl, domestic abuse survivor, and I believe in God but pretty much not religion.
.
I feel lost and overwhelmed as much as I feel grateful and EXCITED for life. I worry my past titles define me but fight everyday so they do not. I feel misplaced at times, while other moments allow me to see I am exactly where I need to be. I am tired of trying to get somewhere as much as I feel inspired by the journey.
.
I build emotional walls way up to the tippy top of my brain as fast as they crumble away from one gorgeous sunset, random hug from my boys, or sweet adorable wink and smile from my hubby.
.
My mind runs around in circles with thoughts of what should have or could have been, where is my place, who am I, what I am here to do now?
.
And then… I know… AGAIN… that I am me and that is enough. No previous or current title defines me or limits my ability to be a better me than yesterday. I am changing, life is changing, roles are constantly changing and it’s ok to feel lost or misplaced. It’s ok to feel a little fear as the future unfolds and it’s also ok to be freaking excited about what the next chapter will bring. .
It’s ok to question what, where, how, when, just don’t get stuck there! Go be and do and live and love and laugh and feel and hurt and cry and be lost and be found and be alone and be together and be YOU whatever that looks like in whatever season you’re in. .
