  1. And this is why I avoid anything trying to say it is free if possible, always go for physical content wherever possible, and minimize anything of mine I could put online.
Too many people trying to legally rob you.

  2. Not software, but WAY back in the pre-PC days there was a micro-computer manufacturer whose 90 day warranty started when the computer was manufactured, not when you bought it. Which meant that your warranty might have expired before you bought the machine.

  3. Luckily TOS are not laws. They are not even legally binding contracts if they breach actual laws and or consumer rights in their provided terms.

Also luckily for us, business is a privilege, not a right. One that can be taken away at anytime society choses. In short, dont care about TOS's that talk nonsense. They cannot force you to give up your rights or go against laws themselves.

  4. The PlayStation 3 had a hidden clause in its software called The BeerWare license.
Basically, if anyone used his software on anything they made, they could repay the creator by buying him a beer.

I'm paraphrasing this, it's been a couple months and I don't want to run through the About section again. It is in there though.

  5. I got 2 apps for free from google play store, as a special freebie, so, I got a free app (HITMAN) on black Friday, a while back, and then, recently, I got another app under £1 for free.
Google is so much better than IOS! Free stuff yay!

  6. so my older sibling once told a story that they read through the ToS one time just for kicks, and they found one of the clauses stated "And you must make me pancakes", so now they have a lowkey fear that one day someone is going to randomly show up to our house and will demand that they make them pancakes.

  7. I remember a funny one. I think it was the free animation program Pencil2d? Basically the only thing it says can revoke the software is god himself. So its saying that if it stops working that means your life is fucked.
