Whilst being a “processed” food… (a by-product when they extract vegetable oil from soybeans). This stuff is actually very nutritious!
High in protein, fibre and iron whilst being low in fat makes it a pretty great food to include if you are trying to bump up your protein intake.
It is also really cheap and great as a meat replacement and can be used to make some great meat free high protein pasta sauces, chil sin carne, tacos, burritos, shepherds pies and even burgers.
You just need to rehydrate it (add a couple of cups of boiled water or low sodium vegetable stock).
