Carlos Gomez moved a step closer to his Mets return.

The free agent outfielder agreed to a minor-league deal with the Mets on Saturday, according to The Post’s Joel Sherman. The deal is pending a physical. Gomez would make $1.25 million if he reaches the majors.

The former Met nearly returned to Flushing in July of 2015, but the trade with the Astros was nixed over Gomez’s medicals. That kept an emotional Wilmer Flores with a team that eventually reached the World Series.

The 33-year-old Gomez, who debuted with the Mets in 2007, slashed .208/.298/.336 with nine homers and 32 RBIs in 118 games last season for the Rays. He joins a crowded Mets outfield mix with Michael Conforto, Brandon Nimmo, Jeff McNeil, Juan Lagares and Keon Broxton. Rajai Davis and Gregor Blanco are also in camp on minor league deals
