In the season three premiere of his hit show, Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry, the psychic to the stars connected with Cavallari’s late brother, Michael, who died of what was officially labeled hypothermia in 2015.
The Hills star contends Michael’s struggles with substance abuse and mental health issues led him down a troubled path.
“Mike dealt with we think bipolar disorder,” she confessed during the Hollywood Medium episode. “He would go in to these manias and think that ‘everything’s great, everything’s fine,’ and then he would just crash and would be depressed. It was just this constant up and down, up and down. And then you throw drugs and alcohol into the mix and it would just enhance everything. And it went on for years.
“He was dealing with some demons, there’s no doubt about it.”
When Henry is able to make contact with Kristin’s brother, he confirms her suspicions about the mental health, but adds that Michael’s addictions played a far bigger role in his tragic death.
“He didn’t intend to end his life,” Henry tells Kristin. “There’s an acknowledgement of more of an emphasis on the drugs and alcohol than even the mental illness thing.
“It’s when we go down the drugs and alcohol route, it’s kind of like ‘there’s no saving me.’ That kind of triggered or kicked off some things. And that seems significant, so if family has wondered that, that’s validation of that.”
The harsh reality caused an emotional Kristin to break down in tears.
“It just f***ing kills me,” she says to Henry while covering her face with her hands.
This season, Henry sits down for readings with The Big Bang Theory multi-Emmy winner Jim Parsons, Chrisley Knows Best stars Todd & Savannah Chrisley, and others looking for answers to impossible questions.
