Peshawar is the capital of the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Situated in the broad Valley of Peshawar near the eastern end of the historic Khyber Pass, close to the border with Afghanistan, Peshawar’s recorded history dates back to at least 539 BCE, making it the oldest city in Pakistan and one of the oldest cities in the world

Islamia College Peshawar is a reputable academic institution, the Victorian architecture and green premises is open for the visitors and the sketch of this building is also placed on 1000 Pakistani Rupee note which actually enhances its importance.

Khayber Pass, a mountain pass in north Pakistan. Close to the border of Afghanistan. It also has been the gateway of South Asia ( part of the ancient silk route). It connects the Afghan territories via torkham. Security is the main concern out there currently.

The clock tower is commonly known as “ghanta ghar” located at chowk yaadgar at a distance from the city’s busy centre. It was inaugurated in 1900 in honour to celebrate the diamond jubilee of British queen Victoria.

The most important part of Peshawar’s local food is meat which is cooked in form “tikka”, “ karhai” “dumpukht” etc. The people there are fond of lamb meat. The way to order it at any eatery is select the variety and amount of meat, and they cook it in your presence.
