The much-awaited assembly election results are out, and clearly it is advantage Congress. Posing a big threat to the Modi govt’s comeback bid in 2019 general election, Congress trounced the BJP 3-NIL in the battle for the Hindi heartland. In Chhattisgarh, the Congress decimated the BJP, winning two-thirds majority, while in Rajasthan the party is all set to form the government leading in at least 105 out of the total 199 seats. It is a cliffhanger in in Madhya Pradesh, where the Congress is leading in 117 seats ahead of BJP’s 103. In Telengana, it is a clean sweep by the TRS led by Chandrashekhar Rao, while the Congress surrendered its last bastion in the North-East region to NDA ally Mizo National Front.
