Client: ‘I want to lose weight’
Genetic PT ‘Let me starve you for four weeks! Only eat chicken breast, broccoli and egg whites and watch that fat melt…’
Client ‘Yes! Quick results!’ Genetic PT ‘I know, amazing right?!’
Five weeks later, client has put all the weight back on, probably plus some more. No adaptive prevention because genetic PT doesn’t understand this is important. Client has binged or gone out for a ‘cheat’ meal and all that weight (not fat… weight) has gone back on.
Short term plans are not sustainable. If your PT puts you on a diet plan then ask why… why are those foods on the plan and why is it only for four/six/eight weeks?
Learn how to eat well, did you know you can still live a normal life while being in a calorie deficit?! Did you know that you don’t need to starve yourself?! Eat right, eat well, have planned fat loss cycles coupled with AP and maintenance cycles to reach your goals.
Enjoy your food! Slow and steady wins the race, build up better habits.
