The singer, 49, has revealed in an emotional interview with The Project, as Metro reported, “For three years my husband did not have a sip of water or food. He was eating through a tube.”
She added in the Sunday, Feb. 18 chat that Angelil was in pain, “three years of agony. I wanted him to live in peace. I wanted him to feel so light and no worries.”
Dion, who recently showed off her body on Instagram, said he was “the only man I’ve ever loved.”
As Radar has reported, sources said last year she lost a lot of weight after her husband’s tragic death.
The woman whose Titanic movie theme song, “My Heart Will Go On” was a smash hit admitted her mother didn’t initially support her marrying Angelil, who was 26 years older.
Although she “fell in love with him immediately,” Dion added, “Not in the romance way [at first], I was 12 years old. I was in love with the way he treated everyone around me, including my whole family and myself.”
After she came of age, Dion and Angelil shared romance and their May/December marriage (when she was 26) endured from 1994 until his death in 2016. Dion is still holding the flame for her late husband, the father of their three children.
The songbird confided, “He’s the only man I’ve seen. The only man I’ve loved. The only man I’ve kissed.”
As Dion’s manager, Angelil also masterminded her incredible career. He died at age 73 two years ago after losing his battle with throat cancer.
