(27 Feb 2019) Supporters of the newly re-elected Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari celebrated his election win in Kano on Wednesday.
The crowd comprised mainly of young men from poverty-stricken neighbourhoods.
“I hope that God will help the president because he will repair Nigeria”, said Ibrahim Garba, a Buhari’s supporter.
Nigeria’s President was declared the clear winner for a second term in Africa’s largest democracy early Wednesday, after a campaign in which he urged voters to give him another chance to tackle gaping corruption, widespread insecurity and an economy limping back from a rare recession.
