The slew of reported NFL contract agreements come with the warning that nothing can be official until Wednesday. This is why.
The NFL Network reported Tuesday that Anthony Barr has decided not to sign with the Jets and will instead re-sign with the Vikings.
The blitzing linebacker was the Jets’ first coup of free agency and was followed Tuesday morning by reports they had signed C.J. Mosley to a five-year, $85 million deal.
According to MMQB.com, Barr committed to the Jets on Monday, but also wanted to sleep on the decision. The Vikings then upped their offer overnight, sealing his decision to return to Minnesota.
The deal with the Vikings is reportedly worth $13.5 million per season.
