Anna Wintour will skip the yearly Vanity Fair party, amid her alleged disapproval of the magazine’s new Editor-in-Chief!
As RadarOnline.com has learned, the powerful Conde Nast director will be missing the ritzy gala to attend fashion shows in Paris. Does this have anything to do with Radhika Jones?
According to Page Six, it was assumed that Wintour, 68, would take charge of the star-filled party after longtime VF editor, Graydon Carter‘s retirement last December. The invitations, however, show that neither Wintour nor Carter will be in attendance.
“The party will be pretty much the same as last year and the year before,” a source told the outlet. “Same venue. Same team organizing it.”
While the bash has grown over the years, it has also become less glamorous, according to an insider, as “the big stars still come, but they don’t stay.” Apparently, even Anna Wintour is too busy for her own party!
As Radar readers know, Wintour – who has often been marked as an industry “mean girl” – recently showed her alleged disapproval of new VF editor Jones, during a company meeting.
The longtime Conde Nast director apparently gave Jones the stink eye when she came into the room wearing colorful tights covered in cartoon foxes! Since Wintour has always been known for her elegant and conservative style, it’s no wonder she didn’t feel too excited about her new colleague’s wacky fashion.
Is her dissatisfaction with Radhika Jones the real reason Anna Wintour is skipping the annual Vanity Fair party? Let us know your thoughts below.
