Aaron Kwok claims IG account hacked

10 Feb – Hong Kong superstar Aaron Kwok has indirectly denied supporting the strike launched by the Hong Kong medical workers through the newly-formed Hospital Authority Employees Alliance (HAEA).

As reported on Mingpao, rumours of Aaron’s support for the strike sparked after netizens noticed that the actor’s Instagram account was one of the followers of the HAEA official page.

Immediately after, the actor took to social media to tell fans that his social media account has been hacked.

“I am currently preparing for my 8 February concert in the United States. I have just been notified by my company’s IT department that my IG account @aaronkwokxx was hacked by either an individual or an organisation, which caused abnormal activities,” he wrote.

Aaron revealed that the company is now in contact with a relevant organisation to ensure the safety of his account, which means that the said account will temporarily stop all updates, and will only be active again after ensuring all security measures have been taken.

Meanwhile, netizens noted that the account is still following HAEA’s page.

The HAEA began a strike last week after expressing frustration with the Hong Kong government’s previous refusal to close all of its border crossings with mainland China in order to stop the spread of the Coronavirus.
