A team of scientists says it has uncovered a major new clue in the mystery of the 5,000-year-old Stonehenge site. The scientists say they have pinpointed the origin of some of the massive rocks used in the prehistoric structure to two quarries in western Wales, roughly 150 miles from the monument. “It finally puts to rest long-standing arguments over whether the bluestones were moved by human agency or by glacial action,” said Joshua Pollard, an archeology professor and lead researcher in the study.
