A prestigious cycling race 🚴‍♀️ in Belgium hit a snafu on Saturday when the leader of the women’s race, which started 10 minutes after the men’s, caught up with the male riders. Nicole Hanselmann, a 27-year-old Swiss cyclist, was asked to stop for five minutes until the gap with the men’s race was restored. Hanselmann was then allowed to continue, but she said the interruption ruined her momentum and she wound up finishing 74th. “It was a bit sad for me because I was in a good mood, and when the bunch sees you stopping they just get a new motivation to catch you,” she told Cycling News.
