As Grand Canyon Nationwide Park marks its 100th birthday Tuesday, photographer @Pedromcbride is looking consideration to the threats dealing with the pure surprise — amongst them a tram that will shuttle vacationers and doable plans to drill for uranium. McBride determined to stroll the size of the canyon — about 750 miles — for weeks at a time between November 2015 and October 2016, throughout which he suffered 4 sprained ankles, two damaged fingers, misplaced two girlfriends and even threw his coronary heart out of rhythm, requiring surgical procedure. Nonetheless, he says it was price it: “After spending so many months drenched within the silence and magic of the seventh pure surprise of the world, I do know there is just one place that appears and appears like this.” (📸: Peter McBride)
