Actor Hina Khan has been making headlines over rumours of her having quit TV show Kasautii Zindagii Kay to work on her Bollywood debut. Hina has now made it clear that she is only taking a break, to work on a Vikram Bhatt film, and hinted that she may return to the show in September.
The actor told Hindustan Times in an interview, “I have not quit the show. Of course, I will take a break post March for my films. I have heard rumours that I will be replaced in the show but when I asked the makers, they said they can’t think of replacing me. They will work on how to take story forward. I feel lucky to be so loved and accepted by the audience in this new role. I have worked so hard on the character’s look and performance. I will be free in September and if I don’t have any other project in hand, then I would love to come back to the show.â€
Talking about the film, Hina said she considers herself lucky to have got the part and said, “Vikram is a wonderful narrator and a person. We had a long chat about the film and we were clear about what to expect. I love the concept of the film and even heard some of the music, which is mind blowing. And he is excited and keen about having me on board, which boosts my morale. I feel lucky to have got this film.â€
The actor will be beginning the shoot of the film in June and also has an international film in her kitty. “I wanted to do some interesting roles that challenge me as an actor. I want to do good work. I am not after glamorous roles. I want to act,†she says.Â
Earlier, reports suggested that Hina is also working on Hussain Khan’s untitled film. A source had told Bombay Times that the actor plays a responsible, independent girl in the film, which is set in Kashmir. Farida Jalal is said to be playing her grandmother in the film.
Hina plays Komolika in Kasautii Zindagii Kay, starring Erica Fernandes and Parth Samthaan as the lead pair. She was also seen as a guest in Bigg Boss 12.
